One method to help us negotiate fair prices is to encourage and assist producer bargaining groups in becoming more effective. We know from experience that bargaining efforts can return more dollars to individual producers. We also know that there are advantages in "working together" as a measure to counter the industrilia ̈ation of agriculture. Therefore we would like to encourage you to support the types of initiatives that Jill Long Thompson has talked about-Next Generation co-ops.... which can aid producers in marketing, bargaining and assist in other programs for producers. |
