Public Service Commission, First District

Public Service Commission, Second District

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, the classification of positions in the Exempt Class in the office of the Public Service Commission for the Second District be and hereby is amended to take effect July 1, 1917, by striking out the words, "assistant secretary, Buffalo office," said position having been abolished to take effect June 30, 1917.

State Courts

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, the classification. of positions in the Exempt Class in the State courts be and hereby is. amended by striking out the words, "In the Supreme Court, New York County: one telephone operator in the justices' room in the county court house; one confidential attendant; one confidential attendant or stenographer to each justice," and substituting in lieu thereof the words, "In the Supreme Court, First Judicial District: two telephone operators; one confidential attendant; one confidential attendant or stenographer to each justice," for the purpose of making the classification apply both to the Supreme Court of New York and Bronx counties, and also for the purpose of classifying as exempt an additional position of telephone operator, established by Chapter 377, Laws of 1917, for which position competitive or non-competitive examination is found to be not practicable.

Court of Claims

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, the classification of positions in the Exempt Class in the Court of Claims be and hereby is amended by striking out the words, "the deputy clerk and stenographer," and substituting in lieu thereof the words, "the deputy clerk also acting as court stenographer," for the purpose of changing title to correspond with item in the appropriation bill.

Agricultural Experiment Station, Geneva

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, the classification of positions in the Non-Competitive Class in the Agricultural Experiment Station at Geneva be and hereby is amended by striking out the words "general mechanic" and substituting in lieu thereof the word, "mechanic," for the purpose of changing the title to comply with item in the appropriation bill effective July 1, 1917.

Middletown State Hospital

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, the classification of positions in the Non-Competitive Class in the State hospital service be and hereby is amended insofar as it relates to positions at the Middletown State

Homeopathic Hospital, by striking out the words, "head farmer," thus transferring said position to the competitive class, and changing the title of the incumbent, William A. Willits, to "farm manager," in order to comply with item in the appropriation bill, which takes effect July 1, 1917.
