AMENDMENTS TO STATE CIVIL SERVICE RULES

Rule XXIV.

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, Civil Service Rule XXIV be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the following:

"In pursuance of the foregoing provision these rules have been further extended to the following offices in all counties, to take effect on January 1, 1909:

County superintendent, as established by the Highway Law, chapter 330, Laws of 1908; county engineer; county superintendent of highways."

(Adopted December 31, 1908. Approved by the Governor January 1, 1909.)

Rule XVI.

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Governor, State Civil Service Rule XVI be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the following.

"4. A person who has served continuously for at least three years in the competitive class in any department and who was separated from his position in that class by appointment to another position in the noncompetitive or exempt class in the same department, and who has served continuously therein from the date of such separation, may be restored without the application of the foregoing restrictions to a position in the competitive class in the same group and grade and in the same department as the competitive position he formerly held.

(Adopted December 31, 1908. Approved by the Governor January 11, 1909.)

General Revision

The Secretary recommended the entire revision of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations to conform to the provisions of chapter 15 of the Consolidated Laws, and that the revised rules be adopted and promulgated by the present Commission and Governor. On motion the following resolution was adopted:
