CHAPTER 60.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of officers, members, and em-
ployes of the twenty-second session of the legislature.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated for payment of out of any money in the general fund of the treas- bers, and emury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of seventy-lature. five thousand ($75,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary for the payment of officers, members, and employes of the twenty-second session of the legislature.

SEC. 2. The auditor of public accounts is hereby Warrants. authorized and required, upon presentation of the certificate of the lieutenant governor or speaker of the house of representatives stating that the party mentioned in said certificate is entitled to compensation as per diem and mileage to the amount allowed by law, to draw his warrant on the general fund for the amount so certified as due; Provided, That said amount so certified shall, after examination and adjustment by the auditor of public accounts and approval thereof by the secretary of state, be found to be correct.

SEC. 3. Whereas an emergency for the taking Emergency. effect of this act, in that there is a public necessity for the payment of the persons named in section one (1) of this act, therefore this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Approved February 5, 1891.

CHAPTER 61.

Appropriation for incidental expenses of legislature.

Accounts and warrants.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of incidental expenses incurred
during the twenty-second session of the legislature.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the sum of seventy-five thousand ($75,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the state treasury out of any money not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of incidental expenses of both houses of the legislature, including printing, stationery, newspapers, postage, fuel, lights, and other special expenses which may be incurred by either house.

SEC. 2. All accounts for any expenses contracted by either house shall be examined by the standing committee of accounts and expenditures of the house to which such expense is chargeable, and certified by the chairman of said committee to the auditor of public accounts as being correct. Each account must be verified by the presiding officers of the respective houses as being contracted in conformity with a resolution duly offered and adopted, and, upon the examination and adjustment thereof by the said auditor and approval thereof by the secretary of state, the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant for the amount so certified upon general fund of the state.

SEC. 3. There being an emergency for the tak

ing effect of this act, the same shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 62.

Appropriation for payment of

officers, mem

AN ACT to provide for the payment of officers, members, and em-
ployes of the twenty-second (22d) session of the legislature.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated bers, and em- out of any money in the general fund of the treasury not otherwise appropriated the sum of twentyfive thousand ($25,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the payment of officers, members, and employes of the twenty-second (22d) session of the legislature.

SEC. 2. Appropriation for expenses of Nebraska National Guards in Indian resurrection.

Warrants.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of the expenses of the Nebraska
National Guard incurred in aiding in the suppression of the late
Indian insurrection.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the sum of twenty-four thousand ($24,000) dollars is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the pay of the militia,. their commissary and quartermaster's stores; and that the sum of thirteen thousand two hundred ($13,200) dollars is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury for the payment of the expenses incurred in the transportation by rail of the Nebraska National Guards to such places as were assigned to them in the fields.

SEC. 2. Upon the presentation of proper vouchers to the auditor of public accounts, after the military board has audited the accounts, and being duly signed by the governor and the adjutant general, he is authorized and required to draw his warrant on the state treasury against the appropriation as specified in section one (1) of this

act.

SEC. 3. Whereas an emergency exists, there- Emergency. fore this act shall take effect and be in force from

CHAPTER 64.

AN ACT to provide for the support and maintenance of the National
Guards of the state of Nebraska.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. The sum of twenty-five thousand for Nebraska ($25,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be Guarda necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of allowing the Nebraska National Guards to comply with the requirements imposed upon them by chapter fifty-six (56) of the Compiled Statutes of Nebraska, during the two (2) years ending March 31, 1893.
