AN ACT RELATIVE TO UNEXPENDED BALANCES IN THE It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. All unexpended balances on all special appropriations made prior to January 1, 1923, on account of which no payment has been made since said January 1, 1923, shall be recovered into the general treasury, and the general treasurer is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to close such accounts and recover such balances into the general treasury. SEC. 2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed and this act shall take effect upon its passage. H 546 Feb. 6, 1925. AN ACT IN AMENDMENT OF SECTION 20 OF CHAPTER 185 OF It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Section 20 of chapter 185 of the general laws, entitled "Of animals doing damage, and of foxes," is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "SEC. 20. Before such person shall be entitled to receive the aforesaid reward he shall exhibit, to either the town clerk or state senator of the town in which the animal was killed, the entire carcass of the fox, and shall make affidavit of the time and place of such killing. The officer before whom the animal shall be exhibited shall thereupon remove one of the ears from said carcass, and, if satisfied that said affidavit is true, certify that the person making the same exhibited to said officer the entire carcass of the fox alleged to have been killed, and the state auditor shall upon presentation of said affidavit and certificate draw his order upon the general treasurer in favor of the person signing such affidavit. The general assembly shall annually appropriate such sum as it may deem necessary for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this and the preceding section." SEC. 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage, and all acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. CHAPTER 572. Section 8 of chapter 416 of the general laws, entitled "Of salaries and clerical assistance and of appropriations" is hereby amended so as to read as follows: which "Sec. 8. The adjutant-general is hereby authorized to provide for clerical assistance to the officers of the national guard of Rhode Island, at an annual cost of not exceeding forty-six hundred eighty dollars, sum is hereby annually appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, and no part of any other appropriation shall be available for expenditure for the same purpose; and the state auditor is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of |
