AMENDMENTS TO STATE CIVIL SERVICE REGULATIONS

Regulation XI

Resolved, That the classification of positions in the labor class in the office of the Superintendent of the Poor, Monrce County, be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the words "assistant seamstress ", competitive or non-competitive examination for said position having been found to be not practicable.

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the Erie County Home and Hospital," by striking out the words " matron (wife of keeper or deputy keeper)" and substituting in lieu thereof "matron (wife of superintendent or deputy superintendent).”

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the office of the Commissioner of Charities and Corrections, Westchester County ", by including therein the words "laundry ironer", competitive or non-competitive examination for said position having been found to be not practicable.

Resolved, That as the department of the Health Officer of the Port of New York was discontinued February 28, 1921, regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by striking out the following: "In the office of the Health Officer, Port of New York: cleaner; laundress; laborer; laboratory helper; laboratory boy; cook; assistant cook; hospital ward helper; assistant in kitchen, laundry and dining room; laundryman; chambermaid; attendant whose duties shall be keeping boats clean, walks in order, fumigating, helping in mechanical occupations, laundry work for ordinary manual labor; boatman and laborer for services at City Island; laundry helper; waitress; laborer-fumigator; deckhand; dockman.” (March 17, 1921.)

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the Office of the Commissioner of Charities and Corrections, Westchester County", by adding thereto the words "kitchen helper ", competitive or non-competitive examination for said position having been found to be not practicable.

In the office of the Public Service Commission for the Second District: Laborer. In the office of the Transit Construction Commissioner: three porters; janitress; janitor", and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "In the office of the Public Service Commission: one porter; laborers. In the office of the Transit Com

mission: three porters; janitress; janitor ", it having been determined that competitive or non-competitive examination for said positions is not practicable.

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by including therein under the heading "County Service", the following: "In the Chemung County Sanatorium: Janitor; cook; maid", it having been determined that competitive or non-competitive examination for these positions is not practicable.

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "County Service", by including therein the following: "In the department of the Nassau County Mosquito Extermination Commission; foreman of laborers; laborer."

Resolved, That the classification of positions in the labor class be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the office of the Secretary of State", by striking out the words "cleaner in the automobile bureau, $1.25 per day".

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by adding under the heading “In the Homestead Sanatorium, Saratoga County: the word teamster".

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, in the State Hospitals, be and hereby is amended by inserting after the words "Willard State Hospital", the word "baggagemaster".

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the State Charitable and Reformatory Institutions", by adding thereto the following words: "laborer and meat cutter, State School for the Blind, Batavia."

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the office of the Transit Commission", by striking out the words "three porters" and inserting in lieu thereof the words four porters".

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the following: "In the Brookside Crest Sanatorium, Chenango County: Waitress", competitive or non-competitive examination for said position having been found to be not practicable. (September 3, 1921.)

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the following: "Board of Trustees, Guy Park Manor, Amsterdam, N. Y.: caretaker, compensation not to exceed $50 a month ", it having been determined that competitive or non-competitive examinaton for said position is not practicable.

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended under the heading "In the office of the State Tax Commission ", by adding thereto the word "cleaner ", it having been determined that competitive or non-competitive examination for said position is not practicable." (October 5, 1921.)

Resolved, That regulation XI, positions classed as laborers, be and hereby is amended by striking out "In the office of the Industrial Commission: Cleaner for the New York office, at compensation not exceeding $60 per month; laborer", and substituting in lieu thereof “In the Department of Labor, office of the Industrial Commissioner: Cleaners at compensation not exceeding $1,000 a year; laborer."
