The following resolutions were adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission and approved by the Mayor February 20,

1913:

Resolved, That the exempt class of the classified service of the city of Syracuse, N. Y., be and the same hereby is amended as follows:

Add thereto the following:

Department of Public Works,

Bureau of Water,

Gate Tender.

Resolved, That the unclassified service of the city of Syracuse, N. Y., be, and the same is hereby amended as follows:

Add to the third subdivision thereof the following:

Purchasing Agent.

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission and approved by the Mayor October 1, 1913: Resolved, That the exempt class of the classified service of the city of Syracuse, N. Y., be and the same is hereby amended as follows:

Add thereto the following:

Department of Public Safety,
Bureau of Building,

Superintendent of Building.

Tonawanda

The following resolutions were adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission September 26, 1913, and approved by the Mayor September 27, 1913:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and State Civil Service Commission, section 4 of the schedule of the civil service rules of the city of Tonawanda be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the words:

"Driver and janitor in Fire Department.' (Approved October 21, 1913.)

Utica

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission January 15, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the Competitive Class of the Classified Service of the city of Utica be amended by adding the words, "Matron at Utica Free Academy."

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission March 14, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the Non-Competitive Class of the Classified Service be amended by adding the words, "Chauffeur, Department of Public Safety."

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipai Civil Service Commission December 15, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the Competitive Class of the Classified Service be amended by adding the words, "School Physician" and "School Nurse."

Watertown

The following resolutions were adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission December 11, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, the positions of Chief of Police and Chief Engineer of the Fire Department be changed from the Non-Competitive Class to the Competitive Class; that the position of Chief of Police be filled by promotion from examination open to the captains and lieutenants; that the position of Chief Engineer of the Fire Department be filled by promotion from examination open to the assistant chief and the captains; and be it further

Resolved, That, the minimum height and weight requirements for the position of policemen and firemen be reduced and that candidates be rated in their physical examination on these elements.

Resolved, That, the position of City Physician be changed from the unclassified service to the classified service, and be included in the Competitive Class.

Yonkers

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission February 17, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, the position of Visiting Nurse in the employ of the Board of Education be and the same is hereby transferred from the Exempt Class of the Classified Service to the Competitive Class of the Classified Service of the city of Yonkers, and that those now holding the said position, and who have served with fidelity for the past three years be placed in the Competitive Class without examination.

The following resolutions were adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission March 20, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That the positions of Librarian and Assistant Librarian in the Public Library of the city of Yonkers, be and

the same are hereby placed in the Competitive Class of the Classified Service of the city of Yonkers, and that the persons now holding said positions and who have served with fidelity for the past three years, be placed in the Competitive Class without examination.

Resolved, That, the Civil Service Rules of the city of Yonkers be amended by adding to the Competitive Class the position of Registrar in the employ of the Board of Education, and be it further,

Resolved, That, these persons now holding said positions and who have served with fidelity for the past three years, be and the same are hereby placed in the Competitive Class of the Classified Service of the city of Yonkers, without examination.

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission June 23, 1913, and approved by the Mayor: Resolved, That, to the competitive class of the classified service for the city of Yonkers, be added the position of chauffeur. (Approved July 14, 1913.)

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That, the position of Chief Clerk in the office of the Department of Public Works be and the same is hereby transferred from the exempt to the Competitive Class of the Classified Service of the city of Yonkers.

(Approved July 14, 1913.)

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission May 26, 1913, and approved by the Mayor: Resolved, That, Rule VI of the rules for the Classified Service of the city of Yonkers be amended by adding thereto the words, Except for the position of axeman in the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works, the minimum age be placed at eighteen years."

Albany

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission, and approved by the Mayor January 21, 1913:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the classification of positions in the Civil Service of the city of Albany be amended by adding to the Exempt Class the words:

"Medical Inspector; four visiting nurses."

Buffalo

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission July 15, 1913, and approved by the Mayor:

Resolved, That the schedules attached to and forming part of the rules and regulations of the Civil Service of Buffalo, New York, be amended by adding to the Non-Competitive Class (Schedule C) the following:

Municipal Hospital -All positions except superintendent, resi dent physician and matron.
