Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the limitation of compensation ($750) fixed by clause 6 of Rule XII be and the same hereby is waived in so far as it applies to the case of Mr. J. Raymond Keiper, of 26 Convent Avenue, Manhattan, New York City, employed as Special Investigator in the Bureau of Standardization of Supplies of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment, and his total compensation is hereby fixed at an amount not to exceed nineteen hundred and fifty dollars ($1,950).

The following resolutions were adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission December 17, 1913, and approved by the Mayor December 24, 1913:

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission the limitation of compensation ($750) fixed by clause 6 of Rule XII, be and the same hereby is waived in so far as it applies to the case of Mr. Charles G. Armstrong, employed in the Board of Estimate and Apportionment as Expert on Power and Materials in connection with the work of the Committee on Final Disposition of City Refuse, and his total compensation is hereby fixed at an amount not to exceed $1,500.

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Edmund V. Roure of 264 Martens avenue, Brooklyn, be and he hereby is excepted from examination pursuant to the provisions of clause 6 of Rule XII, to be employed as price expert in the Bureau of Standardization of Supplies of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment for a period of one year from November 12, 1913, at a compensation not to exceed $2,000.

Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, the limitation of compensation ($750) fixed by clause 6 of Rule XII be and the same hereby is waived in so far as it applies to the case of Mr. Lewis Mayers of 51 Chambers street, Manhattan, New York City, who was excepted from examination by the Commission on December 24, 1912, to be employed as expert investigator in the Board of Estimate and Apportionment in connection with the work of the Com

mittee on School Inquiry, and his total compensation is hereby fixed at an amount not to exceed $1,125.

Niagara Falls

The following resolution was adopted by the Municipal Civil Service Commission April 17, 1913, and approved by the Mayor. Resolved, That, subject to the approval of the Mayor and the State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Alexander J. Page, to be employed by the Board of Park Commissioners of the city of Niagara Falls, be and hereby is excepted from examination, it appearing that Mr. Page is a person engaged in private business and that the services to be rendered are technical and expert and of an occasional and exceptional character; provided, however, that the employment of Mr. Page shall not exceed a period of six months from May 1, 1913, with compensation at the rate of $75 per month.
