118.

1. WE give immortal praise

For God the Father's love,--
For all our comforts here,

And better hopes above:
He sent his own eternal Son

To die for sins that we had done. 2. To God the Son belongs

Immortal glory too,

Who bought us with his blood

From everlasting woe;

And now he lives, and now he reigns, And sees the fruit of all his pains.

8. To God the Spirit's name

Immortal worship give,
Whose new-creating power

Makes the dead sinner live:

His work completes the great design, And fills the soul with joy divine.

4. Almighty God, to thee

Be endless honors done,

The undivided Three,

The great and glorious One:

Where Reason fails, with all her powers, There Faith prevails, and Love adores.

1. JOIN all the glorious names Of wisdom, love, and power, That ever mortals knew,

Or angels ever bore:

All are too mean to speak his worth,
Too mean to set the Saviour forth.

2. Great Prophet of our God,

Our tongues shall bless thy name: By thee the joyful news

Of our salvation came,

The joyful news of sins forgiven,
Of hell subdued, and peace with heaven.
3. Jesus, our great High Priest,

Has shed his blood and died;
Our guilty conscience needs
No sacrifice beside:
His precious blood did once atone,
And now it pleads before the throne.
4. O thou almighty Lord,

Our Conqueror and our King,
Thy sceptre and thy sword,

Thy reigning grace, we sing:
Thine is the power; O, make us sit
In willing bonds beneath thy feet.

1000.

1. MY country, 'tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;

Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrim's pride,
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring.

2. My native country, thee-
Land of the noble, free-
Thy name-I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.

3. Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song:
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,—
The sound prolong.

4. Our fathers' God, to thee,
Author of liberty,

To thee we sing:

Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King.

120.

1. COME, thou Almighty King,
Help us thy name to sing,
Help us to praise;
Father all glorious,
O'er all victorious,
Come, and reign over us,
Ancient of Days.

2. Jesus, our Lord, descend;
From all our foes defend,
Nor let us fall;
Let thine almighty aid
Our sure defence be made,

Our souls on thee be stayed;
Lord, hear our call.
