THE TROLLEY MAIL SERVICE.

The utilization of the electric trolley railroads in this city in connection with the postal service was begun on August 8, 1894, over the Fifth Avenue and West End division of the Atlantic Avenue Railroad to Coney Island, mails then being exchanged with Station "V" and seven suburban offices. This service has since been extended over the Third avenue line to Stations "C" and "N,' over the Flatbush line to Station "F," over the lines of the Brooklyn Heights Railroad Company through Fulton street to Stations "B," "D," "E," "S," "A" and "W."' and on the Crosstown line to Station "G,' and Long Island City, taking the place of the wagon service.

ARRIVAL AND CLOSING OF LONG ISLAND MAILS.

NOTICE. The time of arrivals of mails as stated is subject to the delays that may be occasioned by the lateness of trains, which is liable to occur, especially during the winter season.

The time shown in the following list is the time mails close at General Post Office and the time mails are due at Post Office.

Where the names of R. P. O.'s (Railway Post Offices) are given, the initial and terminal post offices are used to indicate the official designation of routes; matter for all post offices located between such initial and terminal points is despatched at the time indicated that mails for their respective routes will close.
