Independence of the United States.

BY BERLIN H. WRIGHT, PENN YAN, N. Y. These calculations have been made expressly for the EAGLE ALMANAC, and may be relied upon as absolutely correct.

There will be five Eclipses this year, three of the Sun and two of the Moon, as follows:

1. A Partial Eclipse of the Sun January 11th, invisible in the United States, except in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, near sunset,

II. A Partial Eclipse of the Sun, June 8, invisible in the United States, except in Alaska, about sunset.

III, A Total Eclipse of the Moon, June 23, visible on the extreme west coast of the United States, where the Moon will set a few minutes after the Eclipse begins.

IV. An Anpular Eclipse of the Sun, December 2, invisible in America.

V. A Partial Eclipse of the Moon, December 16. Size, 11.96 digits, or almost total. Visible throughout the United States. The beginning will be invisible on the Pacific Coast, where the Moon will rise with the Eclipse on. East of Colorado the entire Eclipse will be visible.
