N52 NOTICE. The Board of Directors at their last meeting in Philadelphia neglected to appoint a Committee on Publication. The undersigned is by the Constitution ex-officio chaiian of such committee and hence has had to act alone. There has been a delay of about a month in getting out this volume in consequence of waiting for the plates of the portion in the reform spelling, the other printing being all done about the middle of December. It is hoped, however, that the interest that attaches to the volume in its present state will compensate for the delay. Several persons were late in sending in their addresses, reports, etc., or the printing might have been completed by the middle of November. On page 223 it is stated that the Proceedings of the Department of Superintendence at the Washington meetings in 1877 and 1879 published by the Bureau of Education not being the property of Association can not be bound with the volume and sent to members. It is a pleasure to state that 500 copies have been secured which will be bound with this volume. This number will be sufficient to supply all members with the full proceedings, but 500 copies of this volume will contain only the proceedings at Philadelphia. W: D.
