Comments received after the official period will be considered in the later decisionmaking process, even though they may be too late to be included in the final environmental impact statement. Jones This environmental impact statement analyzes the environmental consequences of proposed wilderness designation in northwestern and south-central Arizona. The Proposed Action recommends 2,065 acres (one unit) be incorporated into the National Wilderness Preservation System. Alternatives in addition to the Proposed Action include All Wilderness-54,713 acres (six units), Enhanced Wilderness—-31,966 acres (three units), No Wilderness—no units recommended for designation, and No Action-8,465 acres (two units). This draft EIS includes a description of the affected environment and an analysis of the environmental impacts of the Proposed Action and alternatives.
