Now, however, by reason of their projected universal translation and reproduction, affording international distribution, the publishers have been enabled to secure for these atlases the best artistic and professional talent, to produce them in the most elegant style, and yet to offer them at a price heretofore unapproached in cheapness. The great success of the undertaking is demonstrated by the fact that the volumes have already appeared in thirteen different languages-German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Danish, Swedish, Roumanian, Bohemian, and Hungarian. The same careful and competent editorial supervision has been secured in the English edition as in the originals. The translations have been edited by the leading American specialists in the different subjects. The volumes are of a uniform and convenient size (5 × 71⁄2 inches), and are substantially bound in cloth. (For List of Books, Prices, etc. see back cover.)
