In many of the previous books, old examination papers have been largely relied upon in choosing the questions to be treated, and in some cases that plan has been so far followed that only questions have been discussed which have actually been put by some examining board. The result of such a system was that all of the principles of the law upon which former examiners had not touched, were entirely ignored, and the book was practically useless if a new board of examiners saw fit to prepare new questions. In the present work, however, such a plan has been carefully avoided, and the different subjects of the law have been treated in the same logical way for review that they would originally be studied by the student. By this method of treatment the whole ground has been covered, and the book has thus been made as valuable for use in one State as another, and students of any law school may use the book with equal advantage, no matter at what bar they are seeking admission. A radical change has also been made in the form of questions asked, and the present book is the only one of the kind which requires the application of legal principles to a statement of facts given in the question. The work thus meets the requirements of students, in view of the marked change, in this respect, in the nature of the questions now asked by bar examiners. The book will also be found of great assistance to law students in preparing for their Law School Examinations.
