In Tuberculosis

Fresh air and over-feeding, combined with rest in the earlier stage of treatment, are now recognized as the only means of successfully combating the disease.

Lacto-Globulin

is the only concentrated nourishment which fulfils the requirements of the Profession

::

A pure and non-sterilized albumen, retaining the natural enzymes of fresh milk. A transformation of casein into globulin by a physiological process, and not by chemical synthesis. Rich in soluble phosphates, maintaining the alkalinity of the blood and increasing leucocytosis. The proteid of new milk in its most readily assimilable form. A natural food retained by the most delicate stomach, and decreasing all gastric and intestinal irritation.

Lacto-Globulin is so easily digested and so rapidly assimilated that it forms an absolutely ideal food for frequent administration between meals and before retiring. It will increase the natural appetite and the power of digestion through its affinity for and attraction of the gastric enzymes, and gives the maximum nutriment at the least taxation of the digestive organs.

has a most positive value in the treatment of cases associated with progressive loss of flesh, either as an accompaniment of organic or infectious disease, or existing without discoverable cause. THE TREATMENT OF ACNE.

C. M. Williams first reviews the evidence in favor of each of the various theories of the etiology of acne, and expresses himself as believing that the view which embraces both the bacterial and the constitutional factors is the true one. He says that acceptance of the belief that the microbacillus is the active, essential pathogenic agent in the production of the lesions does not invoive the denial of the equally great importance of the constitutional state. Accordingly the treatment must be both local and general, and the neces⚫sity for thoroughness in the search for and correction of all possible predis

posing causes, and for minute detail in all efforts at treatment, is particularly emphasized. Of the predisposing causes indigestion with constipation, disease of the sexual organs, the scrofulous type, and anemia are mentioned as especially important and their treatment when compli cated by acne is outlined. The local measures are, however, the most important, and the hygiene of the skin is described in detail. Of topical applications, after the irritated skin has been soothed by the use of bland lotions like milk of magnesia diluted, stronger preparations of which the basis is usually sulphur and of which

RESINOL

is the specific for all forms of pruritus. There is nothing that produces such immediate cessation from its pain, burning and intolerable itching. Resinol Soap possesses the healing qualities of the Ointment, and is invaluable for cleansing affected parts.

I tried your Resinol Ointment on myself. I had suffered from pruritus ani, or marginal eczema, for 25 years, and had tried many remedies without any relief, until Resinol proved soothing and stopped the itching instantly. J. T. HICKMAN, M.D., Mt. Jackson Va.

Resinol Ointment is the first local application I have found that has given lasting and gratifying results in the treatment of pruritus vulvæ.

DR. GRACE WINTERSTEEN, Harrisburg, Pa.

I have used Resinol Ointment ever since it cured me of a severe case of pruritus of 15 years' standing. L. A. CLARK, M.D., Cambridge, N. Y.

I have been prescribing Resinol Ointment for quite a while with very happy results, and find it excellent in all forms of skin diseases, also in many troubles of the vagina and rectum. Especially is it appreciated by physician and patient in pruritus. W. E. REYNOLDS, M.D., Hopkinsville, Ky.
