The session of 1895 will begin January 7, and continue six months. Thereafter the sessions will begin September 1st and continue eight calendar months. During the term all the branches of medicine and surgery are taught, didactically and clinically. Regular clinics are held three days in the week at the City and County Hospital, Potrero Avenue (450 beds), where the Professors of the practical chairs have charge of wards and possess every advantage for the instruction of students There is also an active clinic conducted three times a week at the College Dispensary, where large numbers of patients are examined and treated before the classes. Didactic lectures are given daily by the Professors, and evening recitations are held several times a week. The dissecting room is open throughout the entire year ant and costs but little.

Material is abund

It will thus be seen that the course of instruction, which extends through eight months of the year, aims at the development of practical physicians and surgeons. The great advantages possessed by the Medical Department of the State University enable the Regents and Faculty to commend it in an especial manner to those seeking a complete and systematic knowledge of the medical profession. The facilities for bed-side study have been largely increased of late, and the student will find opportunities at his command which, for comprehensiveness, are nowhere surpassed.

FOUR YEARS' COURSE.

In response to the general demand, both in and out of the profession, for a higher degree of proficiency in medical education, the Medical Department of the State University was one of the first in the United States to adopt the four years' term of study. No student can present himself for final examination until he has attended faithfully four annual courses of medical lectures and clinics.

Graduates of accredited literary and scientific colleges, and such as have completed two years of the Natural Science Department of a recogn zed university, are admitted to the second class without examination.

NATURAL proteid compound of Iron, aseptically prepared from fresh bullock's blood, and thereby differs entirely from artificial mixtures of albumen or peptone with Iron. It is very soluble, of sweet odor, of pleasant taste, neutral in reaction, and is

Non-Styptic, Non-Irritating and Non-Constipating.

In short, it is hæmoglobin, the concentrated active principle of the blood itself, in its best form, viz., oxyhemoglobin.

Hæmoferrum is offered only in Pilloids (each containing 3 grains), a new form of medication of lenticular shape (easily swallowed), being simply the powdered drug enveloped in a transparent, extremely soluble, continuous coating.

Hæmoferrum seems to possess all the desirable medicinal and therapeutic properties of Iron, without any of its objectionable features; therefore, we believe it unequalled as an Iron preparation, and earnestly request the Medical Profession to give it a thorough trial.
