WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1871.

Senato met, pursuant to adjournment of the 17th day of April, 1871, at 12 o'clock M.

Lieutenant-Governor Dougherty in the chair.
Prayer by Rev. Dr. Hale.

The journal of April 17, 1871, was rea 1 by the Secretary and approved.

The President then presented the following resignation of O. B.
Knickerbocker, Second Assistant Secretary of the Senate:
Hon. John DOUGHERTY, President of the Senate :

Sie: On account of business engagements, I am compelled to offer to you this my resignation of the office of Second Assistant Secretary of ihe Senate of the State of Illinois.

0. B. KNICKERBOOKER. On motion of Mr. Eddy, Mr. Knickerbocker's resignation was accepted.
