The blest memorials of thy grief..

The busy scenes of day are clos'd.
The day is past and gone.

The food on which my children live...
The gospel light rolls down the sky
The hour of prayer once more is come.
The Judge descends from worlds on high
The kind Redeemer left his throne.
The law still curses those who break..
The Lord on high proclaims.....
The Lord shall come, a glorious form
The Lord will happiness divine....
The praying spirit breathe..
The Saviour bids me come.

The Saviour calls-let every ear..

The Saviour comes! no outward pomp..
The Saviour! O what boundless charms
The souls that would to Jesus press..
The Spirit, like some heavenly wind.
The time will surely come..
The vilest of the human race....
The wandering star, and fleeting wind
The world can never give.....

There is a fountain fill'd with blood.
There's nothing round the spacious earth

These glorious minds, how bright they shine
This is the day the Lord has made
This morning let my praise arise
Thou art the way-to thee alone

Though I should seek to wash me clean..
Thron'd on a cloud our God shall come.
Thus far my God hath led me on..
Thus far the Lord has led me on.
Thus saith the High and Lofty One...
Thy presence, gracious God, afford.
"Tis a point I long to know......
"Tis finish'd!-so the Saviour cried.
"Tis God the Spirit leads...
"Tis my happiness below
To bless the chosen race..

To-day the Saviour rose.
To dwell in unity and love
To God, the only wise.

To him that lov'd the sons of men.......

To keep the lamp alive.....

To that dear world of light and bliss.

To thee, O God, when creatures fail.

To you, O men, I call....

Together with these symbols, Lord
Trembling I stand before the Lord..
Try us, O God, and search the ground.
Twas on that dark, that doleful night

Unshaken as the sacred Hill..
Up to the fields where angels lie..
Up to the throne where Jesus reigns.

Up to thy throne, O God of love

Vain are the hopes the sons of men
Vain men, your fond pursuits forbear.

Warm was his heart, his faith was strong
Was it my sin that wounded thee
Wash'd in the Saviour's cleansing blood
We are a garden wall'd around..

We bow before thy gracious throne...
Welcome and precious to my soul.....
Welcome here, our friend and brother
Welcome, sweet day of rest.....
Welcome, ye well-beloved of God.
What jarring natures dwell within
What shall I do my God to love
What shall I do, the sinner cries..
What shall I render to my God
What various hindrances we meet

When all thy mercies, O my God

When any turn from Zion's way

When blooming youth is snatch'd away

When Christ, who came my soul to save.
When Christ, with all his graces crown'd
When first the Lord his grace reveal'd
When I can read my title clear.....
When I can say, My God is mine...
When I survey the wondrous cross
When Jesus died, a suffering one..
When Jesus dwelt in mortal clay..
When Jesus smil'd, and said, arise..
When, O dear Jesus, when shall I
Whence do our mournful thoughts arise
Whene'er the angry passions rise.
Where are the grateful tears I shed
Where Christ the Lord has planted grace.
Where is the Judge that shall condemn
Where'er ascends the sacrifice...
While carnal men, with all their might.
While in this dark and dreary land

Where Babel's streams ran murmuring by

With reverence let the saints appear
With Satan, Christ had fought
Would you win a soul to God...

Ye dying sons of men

Ye glittering toys of earth, adieu..
Ye messengers of Christ

Ye sin-sick souls, draw near..

Ye wretched, hungry, starving poor..
Yonder, amazing sight! I see....

THE CHOICE.

NATIVITY OF CHRIST.

1. C. M. Medley.

Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy. MORTALS, awake, with angels join,

And chaúnt the solemn lay;

Joy, love, and gratitude combine
To hail th' auspicious day.

2 In heaven the rapturous song began,
And sweet seraphic fire

Through all the shining legions ran,
And strung and tun'd the lyre.

3 Swift through the vast expanse it flew,
And loud the echo roll'à;

The theme, the song, the joy was new,
"Twas more than heaven could hold.
4 Down through the portals of the sky
Th' impetuous torrent ran,
And angels flew with eager joy,
To bear the news to man.
5 Hark! the cherubic armies shout,
And glory leads the song;

Good will and peace are heard throughout
Th' harmonious heavenly throng.

6 O for a glance of heavenly love
Our hearts and songs to raise!
Sweetly to bear our souls above,
And mingle with their lays.

2. 7's. Anon.

Glory to God in the highest! Luke ii. 14 HARK! the herald angels sing,

'Glory to the new-born king;
