BE IT, REMEMBERED, That on the fifth day of November, in the forty-first year of the Independence of the United States of America, Wil liam Cranch, of the said district, hath deposited in this office, the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as author, in the words following, to wit:

"Reports of Cases argued and adjudged in the Supreme Court of the United States, in February term, 1814 Vol. VIII. By WILLIAM CRANCH, Chief Judge of the Circuit "Court of the district of Columbia. Potius ignoratio juris litigiosa est, quam scientia.

In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, intituled "An act for the encourage nent of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts and books, to the authors and propi etors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned."
