identical powers by reference to that and following acts, which must therefore have given satisfaction.

The State Parks of New York are in charge of numerous special Commissions, of which the more important are known to have such power, but the records have not been searched for them all.

The Metropolitan Park Commission of Providence did not prior to 1910 receive such power, except in two or three specific cases referred to the General Assembly for that purpose, and reports that its work was greatly hampered by lack of it.

In conclusion, the writer gratefully acknowledges his indebtedness to all those busy citizens of the State who have given freely of their time and contributed the valuable information in regard to ownership, land values, and local conditions generally, which has been so essential in the preparation of this and the more detailed monthly reports.
