PREFACE.

THE object of the present Catalogue has been to give a complete list of all the genera and species of Curculionida, known to inhabit the British Islands.

The letters B. M. on the margin denote the species now contained in the British Museum, and the absence of these letters indicate the species which are desiderata, and therefore desirable to be procured for the collection.
