Resolve in favor of Ellen Regan of Lewiston.

Resolved, That there be paid to Ellen Regan of Lewiston, Ellen Regan, in out of the state treasury, a pension of ten dollars per month, commencing on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and ninety-one.

Chapter 16.

Resolve in favor of the Central Maine General Hospital.

Resolved, That the sum of ten thousand dollars be and is hereby appropriated in aid of the Central Maine General Hospital, in Hospital, upon the following conditions: when said corporation shall have expended ten thousand dollars, in the year of eighteen hundred and ninety-one in bona fide outlay for grounds, buildings and permanent expenditures for the establishment and equipment of its hospital, to the satisfaction of the governor and council, then five thousand dollars shall be paid to the treasurer of said corporation. When said corporation shall have expended in the year of eighteen hundred and ninety-two ten thousand dollars additional to the above in the same manner, and with the same approval, then the remaining five thousand dollars shall be paid to the treasurer of said corporation.

Resolve for the purchase of the Maine State Year Book and Legislative Manual for eighteen hundred and ninety-one and eighteen hundred and ninety-two.

Resolved, That the secretary of state be authorized to Maine State contract for six hundred copies of the Maine State Year Book Yavor of and Legislative Manual for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-one, seventy-five copies of which shall be octavo, suitable for binding with documents, also eight hundred copies of the same for the year eighteen hundred and ninety two, seventy-five copies of which shall be octavo, suitable for binding with documents, to be delivered on or before the first

day of June of each year, at a cost not to exceed one dollar and fifty cents per copy, said copies to be distributed in the usual manner.

Provided, That if said copies are not delivered on or before the tenth day of June of each year, the cost shall not exceed one dollar and twenty-five cents per copy.

Chapter 18.

Resolve in favor of the Maine General Hospital.

Resolved, That there be and hereby is appropriated the sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars, to be paid to the Maine General Hospital for use of said institution for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and seven thousand five hundred dollars for use of said institution for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-two.

Chapter 19.

Resolve in aid of the Children's Home in Bangor.

Resolved, That the sum of one thousand dollars be and is hereby appropriated for the Children's Home of Bangor for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and the same amount for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-two.

Resolve in favor of John E. Kelley.

Resolved, That the treasurer of state be directed to pay John E. Kelley, formerly sheriff of Lincoln county, the sum of seven hundred and nine dollars, being the balance of the damage which the said Kelley has suffered on account of a lien attachment of a vessel, made by him under the provis

ions of the revised statutes of Maine, which provisions were subsequently held by the supreme court of Maine to be unconstitutional.

Chapter 21.

Resolve in favor of Swanville.

Chapter 22.

Resolve in favor of helping maintain road from Patten to Crystal Plantation.

Resolved, That there be and hereby is appropriated four hundred dollars to aid in maintaining the road leading from Patten Village in a southerly direction across Crystal Plantation to Sherman. The same to be expended under the direction of the county commissioners of Aroostook county.

Resolved, That the sum of one thousand dollars be appropriated to help build a bridge across Little Madawaska Stream. The amount to be expended under the direction of the county commissioners of Aroostook county.

Kennebec, authorized to

procure a loan.

Chapter 25.

Resolve authorizing the County of Kennebec to procure a loan.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the county of Kennebec is authorized to procure by loan, on the faith and responsibility of said county, a sum not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars, exclusive of and in addition to loans authorized by section seventeen of chapter seventy-eight of the revised statutes, to be expended by and under the direction of the county commissioners of said county for the purposes of enlarging, improving and repairing the court house, providing additional vault room for the several county offices and for such improvements in the heating and ventilating of the county buildings as said commissioners may deem proper, and the said treasurer is hereby authorized to issue bonds of said county with interest coupons attached, to the amount of such loan; said bonds to bear interest, payable semi-annually, at a rate not exceeding four per cent per annum, the principal to be payable at such times, not later than twenty years from the date thereof, as said commissioners may fix; said bonds to be signed by the treasurer and countersigned by the county commissioners of said county.

Chapter 27.

Resolve in favor of Bridgton Academy.

Academy, in

Resolved, That the sum of five hundred dollars be hereby Bridgton appropriated annually, for the term of ten years, to Bridgton favor of. Academy, an institution of learning, located in the town of Bridgton, in the county of Cumberland. Provided, however, that this appropriation is made upon the express condition that the trustees of said institution shall maintain and keep in operation a school in equal rank and grade of teaching with a first class academy, of not less than three terms of ten weeks each during each year, and provided further, that the governor and council and superintendent of common schools shall have a right at all times to visit said school when the same shall be in operation, and if in the opinion of the governor and council, said institution at any time hereafter shall fail to fulfill the condition of this resolve, they may in their discretion withhold the appropriation herein granted.

Chapter 28.

Resolve in favor of Litchfield Academy.
