do they reap, nor gather into | for the things of itself. Sufbarns; yet your heavenly Fa- ficient unto the day is the ther feedeth them. Are ye evil thereof. not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his ftature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Confider the lilies of the field, how they grow they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I fay unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of thefe.

30 Wherefore, if God fo clothe the grafs of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is caft into the oven, fhall be not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, faying, What shall we eat? or what fhall we drink? or wherewithal fhall | we be clothed?

32 (For after all thefe things do the Gentiles feek ;) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But feek ye firft the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things fhall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought

CHAP. VII.

UDGE not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgement ye judge, ye fhall be judged; and with what meaye mete, it fhall be meafured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but confidereft not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou fay to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then fhalt thou fee clearly to caft out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither caft ye your pearls before fwine; left they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7¶ Afk, and it fhall be given you; feek, and ye fhall find; knock, and it fhall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that

feeketh,

feeketh, findeth; and to him a corrupt tree bringeth forth that knocketh, it fhall be evil fruit. opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his fon afk bread, will he give him a ftone?

10 Or, if he ask a fifh, will he give him a ferpent?

II If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more fhall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that afk him?

12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even fo to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the ftrait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to deftruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because ftrait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15¶ Beware of falfe prophets, which come to you in fheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits: Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thiftles?

17 Even fo every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and caft into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye fhall know them.

21 Not every one that faith unto me, Lord, Lord, fhall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will fay to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophefied in thy name ? and in thy name have caft out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24¶ Therefore, whofoever heareth these fayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wife man which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that houfe; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

B 4

26 And

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, fhall be likened unto a foolish man which built his house upon the fand:

27 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pafs, when Jefus had ended thefe fayings, the people were aftonifhed at his doctrine:

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

dom of heaven be

likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wife, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wife took oil in their veffels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all flumbered and flept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye

out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arofe, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish faid unto the wife, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wife answered, faying, Not fo; left there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that fell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was fhut.

11 Afterward came alfo the other virgins, faying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and faid, Verily I fay unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own fervants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his feveral ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then

16 Then he that had received the five talents, went and traded with the fame, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewife he that had received two, he also gained other two.

many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came, and faid, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou haft not

18 But he that had re-fown, and gathering where ceived one, went and digged thou haft not strawed: in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19 After a long time the lord of thofe fervants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And fo he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, faying, Lord, thou deliveredit unto me five talents: behold, I have gained befide them five talents more.

21 His lord faid unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful fervant: thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord,

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou haft that is thine.

26 His lord answered and faid unto him, Thou wicked and flothful fervant, thou kneweft that I reap where I fowed not, and gather where I have not ftrawed:

27 Thou oughteft therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I fhould have received mine own with ufury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath fhall be given, and

22 He also that had received two talents came and faid, Lord, thou deliveredithe fhall have abundance: but unto me two talents: behold, from him that hath not shall I have gained two other ta- be taken away even that lents befide them : which he hath.

23 His lord faid unto him, 30 And caft ye the unproWell done, good and faith-fitable fervant into outer ful fervant; thou hast been darkness : there fhall be faithful over a few things, I weeping and gnashing of will make thee ruler over teeth.

31 When

31 ¶ When the Son of man fhall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he fit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him fhall be gathered all nations: and he fhall feparate them one from another, as a fhepherd divideth his fheep from the goats:

33 And he fhall fet the fheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

40 And the King shall anfwer and fay unto them, Verily I fay unto you, Inafmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a ftranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: fick, and in prison, and ye vifited

34 Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right hand, Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: Ime not. was thirty, and ye gave me drink: I was a ftranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was fick, and ye vifited me: I was in prifon, and ye came unto me.

37 Then fhall the righteous anfwer him, faying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirty, and gave thee drink?

38 When faw we thee a ftranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when faw we thee Ack, or in prifon, and came unto thee?

44 Then fhall they alfo anfwer him, faying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungred, or athirft, or a firanger, or naked, or fick, or in prifon, and did not minifter unto thee?

45 Then fhall he answer them, faying, Verily I fay unto you, Inafmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of thefe, ye did it not to me.

46 And thefe fhall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
