9 The righteous alfo fhall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands fhall be ftronger and ftronger.

10 But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wife man among you.

II My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

12. They change the night into day the light is fhort, because of darkness.

13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

14. I have faid to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my fister.

15 And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who fhall fee it?

16 They fhall go down to the bars of the pit, when our reft together is in the duft.

3 Wherefore are we

4 He teareth himself in his anger: fhall the earth be forfaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?

5 Yea, the light of the wicked fhall be put out, and the fpark of his fire fhall not fhine.

6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle fhall be put out with him,

7 The steps of his ftrength fhall be ftraitened, and his own counfel fhall caft him down.

8 For he is caft into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a fnare.

9 The gin fhall take him by the heel, and the robber fhall prevail against him.

10 The fnare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

16 His roots fhall be dried up beneath, and above fhall his branches be cut off.

17 His remembrance fhall perifh from the earth, and he fhall have no name in the ftreet.

18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chafed out of the world.

19 He fhall neither have fon or nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.

20 They that come after him fhall be aftonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.

21 Surely fuch are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of bim that knoweth not God.

3 These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not afhamed that ye make yourselves ftrange to me.

4 And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

5 If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

6 Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compaffed me with his. net.

7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

8 He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath fet darkness in my paths.

9 He hath ftripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

10 He hath destroyed me on every fide, and I am gone; and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's fake of mine own body.

18 Yea, young children defpifed me: I arofe, and they spake against me.

25 For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he fhall ftand at the latter day upon the earth.

26 And though after my fkin worms deftroy this body, yet in my flefh fhall I fee God:

27 Whom I fhall fee for myself, and mine eyes fhall behold, and not another : though my reins be consumed within me.

28 But ye fhall fay, Why perfecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me. 20 My bone cleaveth to my fkin, and to my flesh, and phar the Naamathite I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

15 He hath fwallowed down riches, and he fhall vomit them up again: God fhall caft them out of his belly.

16 He fhall fuck the poifon of afps: the viper's tongue fhall flay him.

To His children fhall feek to please the poor, and his hands fhall restore their goods.

19 Because he hath oppreffed, and hath forfaken the poor, because he hath violently taken away an houfe which he builded not:

23 When he is about to fill his belly, God fhall, caft the fury of his wrath upon

him, and fhall rain it upon him while he is eating.

24 He fhall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of fteel fhall ftrike him through. 25 It is drawn and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering fword cometh out of his gall; terrors are upon him.

26 All darknefs fhall be hid in his fecret places: a fire not blown fhall confume him it fhall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle. 27 The heaven fhall reveal his iniquity and the earth fhall rise up against him.

28 The increafe of his house fhall depart, and his goods fhall flow away in the day of his wrath.

29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.

B said,

2 Hear diligently my fpeech, and let this be your

confolations.

3 Suffer me that I may fpeak and after that I have spoken, mock on.

4 As for me is my complaint to man? and if it were Jo, why fhould not my fpirit be troubled?

5 Mark me, and be aftonifhed, and lay your hand upon your mouths.

6 Even when I remember, I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.

7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?

8 Their feed is established in their fight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.

9 Their houfes are fafe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

10 Their bull gendereth and faileth not; their cow calveth and cafteth not her calf.

II They fend forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the found of the organ.

13 They fpend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.

14 Therefore they fay unto God, Depart from us ; for we defire not the knowledge of thy ways.

15 What is the Almighty, that we fhould ferve him? and what profit should we. have if we pray unto him?

16 Lo, their good is not in their hand; the counfel of the wicked is far from me.
