Particular attention is given throughout the text to the ways in which nutritional needs change as each developmental stage is reached. Infants at nutritional risk, nutritional status assessment, and home total parenteral feeding also are covered. Data and informational tables and photographs supplement the text. Reference data (e.g., recommended nutrient intakes, growth charts, therapeutic diets, drug-nutrient interactions, drugs in breast milk, food composition) and resource information are given in 11 appendices.
