FIG. 31 represents a case manufactured by the Galvano-Faradic Company, containing all the galvano-caustic electrodes, in situ. The galvano-cauter, with its insulated handle, the galvano-moxa, galvano-caustic loop, galvanic knife, galvanic curette, etc., etc. These electrodes are a credit to our home-manufactured articles. They cannot be excelled. Among the many novel and useful electrodes produced by the Galvano-Faradic Manufacturing Company are the following: FIG. 32. Dr. A. Murray's double-stem disk, which conveys both the positive and secondary currents, can be advantageously applied in many cases where Duchenne's double-cup electrode is inapplicable. FIG. 33. Murray's serres finés. This is an admirable arrangement for needles. From the bar are suspended six insulated wires, which are secured by thumb-screws. Attached to the lower extremity of each is a platina or steel needle. One or more can be inserted directly, or, owing to the flexibility of the conducting wire, laterally, or at a distance from each other. The entire arrangement screws on the universal or interrupted handle through which the current is conveyed. The same inventor also offers a double-stem, adjustable ovarian electrode (FIG. 34) for application to both ovaries at the same time. FIG. 84. Powell's spinal electrode (FIG. 35), for self-application, enables the patient to apply electricity, without assistance, along the whole course of the spinal column. FIG. 85, Powell's rheotome, or self-acting interrupter of the galvanic current, forms a portion of the regulator, as heretofore described. It is also arranged separately, and can be used with any galvanic battery. Slow or rapid interruptions, as desired, can be obtained without the intervention of a third party. These interruptions are, therapeutically, of the utmost importance. No galvanic battery is complete unless provided with this additional instrument. Cautery, 461.
