has been mentioned earlier. Mrs. L. T. Hidden was a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in 1920. The Child Labor Commission, a non-paid, appointed body has had a majority of women members since its organization and its first and present secretary is a woman, Mrs. M. R. Trumbull, who is also Secretary of the Industrial Welfare Commission. The latter body created by the legislature of 1913 consists of three members of whom the one representing the employes has been a woman, Miss Bertha Moores being the first Commissioner, Miss Adelia Pritchard, the present one. The writer served as first secretary of the Commission for slightly over three years. That women in Oregon have not "lost their heads" through possession of the ballot is plainly evident; that women representatives will not vote for measures just because they are advocated for women by women was evident in the 1921 legislature, when Mrs. C. B. Kinney, Representative, voted against the bill raising the amount of compensation of mothers' pensions, though she was instrumental in the passage of the optional jury duty bill for women.
