JOHN GORE was probably the third son of Sir William Gore of Tring, Lord Mayor of London in 1702. He resided at Bush Hill, Middlesex, and was M.P. for Great Grimsby. He married Hannah, daughter of Sir J. Sambrooke of North Mimms, Knt., and died 3 August 1765, aged 74, being buried at Tring.

WILLIAM DOLBEN‡ of Stanwicke in the countie of Northampton, Doctor of Divinity. Will dated 1 Sep. 1631; proved 25 Oct. 1631 by ex'trix. To be buried in the parish church to which this house where I now am belongs, or elsewhere at direction of the Bishop of Lincoln. My dear cousin William Midleton, late of London, mercht, hath by his will ordained me his sole ex'or, and put trust in me for the performing of several charitable legacies in the performance of which I am (God knowes) most uncharitably and wrongfully hindred by John Chambers and Anne his wife, and some others who I am ashamed to name. And I beseech God to forgive and convert them, and I appoint Richard Owen of Buckden, co. Hunts, gent., steward to the Bishop of Lincoln, supervisor of my will, to assist my ex'trix against

Her son John, created a Baronet 2 May 1662, married first Mary, granddaughter of his stepfather Middleton, and secondly Elizabeth, another granddaughter of his stepfather's, and first-cousin to his first wife. From this marriage through Elizabeth Wittewronge, Lady Gery, descended Susanna Gery, wife of Sir John Cullum, fifth Baronet of Hawstead and Hardwick. He was Bishop Designate of Bangor, son of John Dolben of Haverfordwest, by Alice, sister of Sir Thomas Middleton, Lord Mayor of London.

To my dear cousin his wife Judith Lorte I give one Jewell wch is now in my deske at Stanwicke garnished with small pearles, havinge the holy lambe on the one side and the Crucifix on the other, wch Jewell was my deare Mother's. SIR HUGH MIDDELTON, Bart, Cit. & Goldsmith of London, sick of body, etc. Will dated 21 Nov. 1631; proved 21 Dec. 1631 by Dame Elizth Myddleton the relict. To be burd in Church of St Mathewe in London where I was some time a parishioner, & a monument there to be set up for me. To my Wife Dame Elizabeth Middelton all her chains, rings, jewels, etc., and also the deep silver bason, Spout pott, & Maudlyn Cup of Silver. My son William Middelton has already had his portion, & I now give him £100, & to his wife £10. My da. Jane has had her portion on her marriage, & I now give her & her husband Dr Chamberlaine £10 each for rings. My da. Hester hath had £1000, part of her portion of £1900, & the remainder is detained till the articles on the part of the Lady Price are performed on behalf of her grandson Rich Price, Esq., who was under age at the time of the marriage of the sd Hester, & I give to them (over & above the £900) £10 each for rings.* To my sons Henry Middelton & Simon Middelton £400 each.
