O The Yankees on the Marne ACCORDING TO T. ATKINS H, the English and the Irish, and the 'owlin' Scotties, too, The Canucks and Austryleyuns, and the 'airy French Pollu, The only thing that bothered us, a year before we knew, Was 'ow in 'ell the Yanks 'ud look, an' wot in 'ell they'd do. They 'adn't 'ad no trynein', they didn't know the gyme, Them leggy, nosey new 'uns, just come across the sea- They didn't 'ave no tactics but the bloody manual, They 'adn't learned no horders but "Oooray!" and "Give 'em 'ell!" So we're standin' all together in a stiffish firin' line, But the only thing that bothers us-an' that don't bother much— Gaw's trewth! it's rotten fightin' that all our troops 'as seen, But the only thing that bothers us in 'andin' 'im our thanks EMERSON HOUGH, of the Vigilantes. O N the opposite page we reproduce a photograph of the Filer and Mill Foreman of the Mill. The taller one is Mr. Terry, the Filer. Note in the picture the string of twenty-six Chain Dogs, all of which have been cut with Disston saws. Mr. Terry advises that he has never had to retooth or braze the saw, and is continually encountering this type of iron, due to the fact that all their logs are rafted. Mr. King states that Mr. Terry is the best filer in Western Kentucky, and as all who are acquainted with Disston saws are aware, the combination of a good filer and Disston saws is hard to be beat when it comes to making lumber of quantity and quality.
