The Vision of dry Bones. 1 LOOK down, O Lord! with pitying eye, See Adam's race in ruin lie;
Sin spreads its trophies o'er the ground, And scatters slaughtered heaps around. 2 And can these dead awake and live? And can these perished bones revive? That, mighty God! to thee is known; That wondrous work is all thine owu. 3 Thy ministers are sent in vain, To prophesy upon the slain,
In vain they call, in vain they cry,- Till thine almighty aid is nigh.
4 But if thy Spirit deign to breathe,
Life spreads through all the realms of death; Dry bones obey thy powerful voice,- They move, they waken, they rejoice.
5 So when thy trumpet's awful sound Shall shake the heavens and rend the ground Dead saints shall from their tombs arise, And spring to life beyond the skies.
Rejoicing in a Revival.
1 O ZION! tune thy voice,
And raise thy hands on high; Tell all the earth thy joys, And boast salvation nigh · Cheerful in God
Arise and shine While rays divine Stream all abroad.
2 He gilds thy mourning face With beams that cannot fade;
His all-resplendent grace
He pours around thy head
The nations round
Thy form shall view,
With lustre new,
Divinely crowned."
3 In honor to his name, Reflect that sacred light; And loud that grace proclaim,
Which makes thy darkness bright, Pursue his praise,
Till sovereign love, In worlds above, The glory raise.
4 There, on his holy hill,
A brighter sun shall rise, And, with his radiance, fill Those fairer, purer skies; While, round his throne, Ten thousand stars, In nobler spheres,
His influence own.
Prayer for a Revival.
1 SAVIOUR! visi: thy plantation; Grant us, Lord! a gracious rain: All will come to desolation,
Unless thou return again.
2 Keep no longer at a distance ;- Shine upon us from on high, Lest, for want of thine assistance, Every plant should droop and die. 3 Let our mutual love be fervent, Make us prevalent in prayers; Let each one, esteemed thy servant, Shun the world's enticing snares. 4 Break the tempter's fatal power; Turn the stony heart to flesh And begin, from this good hour, To revive thy work afresh.
452. Future Peace and Glory of Zion.
1 HEAR what God, the Lord, hath spoken;"O my people! faint and few, Comfortless, afflicted, broken,—
Fair abodes I build for you: Scenes of heart-felt tribulation
Shall no more perplex your ways:
You shall name your walls-Salvation,- And your gates shall all be praise.” 2 There, like streams that feed the garden, Pleasures, without end, shall flow; For the Lord, your faith rewarding, All his bounty shall bestow: Still, in undisturbed possession, Peace and righteousness shall reign Never shall you feel oppression- Hear the voice of war again. 3 Ye, no more your suns declining, Waning moons no more shall see; But, your griefs for ever ending, Find eternal noon in me:
God will rise, and, shining o'er you Change to day the gloom of night; He, the Lord, will be your glory,- God your everlasting light.
1 WOULD you winja soul to God? Tell him of the Saviour's blood, Once for dying sinners spilt, To atone for all their guilt.
2 Tell him how the streams did glide, From his hands, his feet, his side,- How his head, with thorns, was crowned And his heart in sorrow drowned :-
3 How he yielded up his breath, How he agonized in death, How he lives to intercede,- Christ, our advocate and head.
4 Tell him, it was sovereign grace Led thee first to seek his face; Made thee choose the better part, Wrought salvation in thy heart.
5 Tell him of that liberty Wherewith Jesus makes us free, Sweetly speak of sins forgiven, Earnest of the joys of heaven.

Fountain of Life.
1 SEE, from Zion's sacred mountain, Streams of living water flow! God has opened there a fountain That supplies the plains below: They are blessed,
Who its sovereign virtues know.
2 Through ten thousand channels, flowing, Streams of mercy find their way; Life, and health, and joy bestowing, Making all around look gay:
Hail the long-expected day.
3 Gladdened by the flowing treasure, All-enriching as it goes;
Lo, the desert smiles with pleasure,- Buds and blossoms as the rose:
Sings for joy where'er it flows.
4 Trees of life, the banks adorning, Yield their fruit to all around; Those who eat are saved from mourning Pleasure comes, and hopes abound,
Fair their portion!
Endless life, with glory crowned.
Christ receiving Children.
1 SEE Israel's gentle Shepherd stand, With all-engaging charms!
Hark! how he calls the tender lambs, And folds them in his arms!
2 "Permit them to approach," he cries, "Nor scorn their humble name;
For 't was to bless such souls as these. The Lord of angels came.
3 We bring them, Lord! in thankful hands. And yield them up to thee; Joyful that we ourselves are thine,- Thine let our offspring be.
4 Ye little flock! with pleasure hear,- Ye children! seek his face; And fly, with transports, to receive The blessings of his grace.
5 If orphans they are left behind, Thy guardian care we trust;-
That care shall heal our bleeding hearts, If weeping o'er their dust.
1 O LORD! encouraged by thy grace, We bring our infant to thy throne; Give it within thy heart a place, Let it be thine, and thine alone.
2 Wash it from every stain of guilt, And let this child be sanctified; Lord! thou canst cleanse it, if thou wilt, And all its native evils hide.
3 We ask not, for it, earthly bliss,
Or earthly honors, wealth or fame: The sum of our request is this- That it may love and fear thy name.
4 This infant, we by faith commit
To thy kind love and guardian care; We lay it at the Saviour's feet,
He will not let it perish there.
The promise to Abraham.
1 HOW large the promise-how divine, To Abra'm and his seed!
"I'll be a God to thee and thine, Supplying all their need."
2 The words of his extensive love, From age to age, endure;
The angel of the covenant proves, And seals the b'essings sure.
