K 20. REPORT RESPECTING PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION OF HUNTER'S CREE VIRGINIA. UNITED STATES ENGINEER OFFICE, Washington, D. C., December 3, 1886. GENERAL: In compliance with your order of September 27, 1886. have the honor to report the result of a preliminary examination Hunter's Creek, Virginia, made with the object of determining whethe it is worthy of improvement. After a careful examination of the charts of the United States Coa Survey I have been unable to find the name of Hunter's Creek at a point upon the shores of Chesapeake Bay or the Potomac River. An inquiry addressed to the steam-boat companies which trade these waters has not elicited any information. In order to perform the duty assigned to me I addressed letters the members of Congress for the districts bordering the Chesapeak Bay and Potomac River, requesting information in relation to th position of Hunter's Creek.
