Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old; through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy uron me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid: I said, I will CONFESS my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Ps. 32: 1.

ND Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb or deaf, or the seeing or the blind? have not I the LORD?

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

Ex. 4: 10.

But when David saw that his servants whispered, David 2 Sam. 12:19 perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? and they said, He is dead.

Then David arose from the earth and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house, and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

Job 2: 9.

Jno. 18: 10.

Mark 14:35

Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive, but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.

And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept for I said, Who can tell, whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

But now he is dead, Wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground and worshipped.

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave and the LORD hath taken away, blessed be the Name of the LORD.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh; what? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Then Simon Peter having a sword, drew it, and smote the high Priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed, that if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee, take away this cup from me: nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, Matt. 26: 42. O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with Rom.9: 14. God? God forbid.

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

For the Scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my Name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will, he hardeneth.

Thou wilt say then unto me; Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

Nay but O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus ?

Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump, to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dis honor?

What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory?

ND he spake a parable unto them, to this end, that men ought always to PRAY, and not to faint,

Saying, There was in a city a Judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man.

And there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary :

And he would not for a while. But afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man,

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming, she weary me.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to PRAY, the one a Pharisee, and the other a Publican.

The Pharisee stood and PRAYED thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this Publican.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the Publican standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven: but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other, for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased: and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

I will therefore that men PRAY every where, lifting up 1 Tim. 2:8. holy hands without wrath and doubting.

And it came to pass, that as he was PRAYING in a cer- Luke 11: 1. tain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to PRAY, as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, When ye PRAY, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins: for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves.

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.

And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not, the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise, and give him, because he is his friend: yet because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion ? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
