MARK MASTERS, all appear Before the Chief O'erseer; In concert move; If there is no defect, He will approve, Those who have pass'd the Square, Join heart and hand; Each with his mark in view, Hiram, the widow's son, Our great key-stone; Which raises high the fame Now to the westward move, Where, full of strength and love, Hiram doth stand; But if impostors are Mix'd with the worthy there, Now to the praise of those To the praise worthy three, At the constituting a Lodge, HAIL Masonry divine! Long may'st thou reign; Whene'er thy lodges stand, May they have great command, And always grace the land, Thou art divine! At receiving and acknowledging a ALL hail to the morning Shall hail us no more, To the Power Almighty, who ever has guided The tribes of old Israel, exalting their fame, To him who hath govern'd our hearts undivided, Let's send forth our voices, to praise his great name. Companions, assemble By the ANCIENt of Days, There's no more occasion for level and plumb-line, Eor trowel or gavel, for compass or square; Our works are completed, the ark safely seated, And we shall be greeted as workmen most rare. Now those that are worthy, And prov'd themselves faithful, Their virtue and knowledge, Have gain'd our good will. We accept and receive them Most Excellent Masters, Invested with honours, and power to pre side; Amongst worthy Craftsmen, wherever assembled, The knowledge of Masons to spread far and wide. ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH, True pleasures in teaching Good will to mankind. Thy wisdom inspired the great institution, Thy strength shall support it, till nature expire; And when the creation shall fall into ruin, Its beauty shall rise through the midst of the fire. |
