Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worfe: but thou haft kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jefus in Cana of Galilee, and manifefted forth his glory, and his difciples believed on him.

God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and neceffities ftretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

God, who knoweft us to be fet in the midft of many and that by reafon of the frailty great dangers, of our nature we cannot always ftand upright; grant to us fuch ftrength and protec tion, as may fupport us in all all temptations, through Jedangers, and carry us through fus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

The Epifle. Rom. xiii. 1. ET every foul be fubject unto the higher powers; for

for there is no power but of God: the powers that be, are ordained of God. Whofoever, therefore, refifteth the power, refifteth the ordinance of God: and they that refift, hall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the fame: for he is the minifter of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the fword in vain: for he is the minifter of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be fubject, not only for wrath, but alfo for confcience fake. For, for this caufe pay ye tribute alfo; for they are God's Minifters, attending continually upon this very thing. Render, therefore, to all their tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom cuftom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.

So the devils befought him, faying, If thou caft us out, fuffer us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of fwine; and behold, the whole herd of fwine ran violently down a steep place into the fea, and perifhed in the waters. And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told

HE kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which fowed good feed in his field. But while men flept, his enemy came and fowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was fprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares alfo. So the fervants of the houfholder came and faid unto him, Sir, didft not thou fow good feed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He faid unto them, An enemy hath done this. The fervants faid unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he faid, Nay; left, while ye gather up the tares, ye root up alfo the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harveft; and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together firft the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather thewheat into my barn.
