God's word is true, whether you feel it or do not feel it." "Do you mean to say that I am just to rest on that, without feeling it?" "I do not say so. It is God that says so." 108 BELIEVING THE TESTIMONY. "Then it is upon God's testimony that, believing, I am to conclude that I am saved?” "Certainly; just because God says it.” "I think I see it now. It is just upon God's testimony. I see it now." As she rose, she said, "I see it now. The burden is all away." "What has taken it away?" "The testimony of God concerning His Son." "What makes you so sure?" "That which is written in this book," she said, holding up her Bible as she left the room. But did not this young lady deceive herself? Let God Himself answer this question. He says in His Word: "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God!" 1 John v. I. "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." 1 John iv. 15. "You that believe on the name of the Son of God, may know that ye have eternal life." 1 John v. 13. Observe, however, that the believing required, is believing "in the Lord Jesus Christ." "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Believe the testimony about Him, but rely on Him personally as well. Faith in the word and in Him who speaks it are essential.
