WATSON ("IAN MACLAREN")—EVERLASTING TENTS. When he (Jesus) referred to the many mansions, he may have been intending stations-stages in that ascent of life that shall extend through the ages of ages. In the parable of the unjust steward, Jesus uses this expression in speaking of the future: "everlasting tents." It combines the ideas of rest and advance-a life of achievement where the tent is being forever pitched, a life of possibilities where it is being forever lifted.-The Mind of the Master, p. 311 ff.
WATTS-SERMONS AND LECTURES IN HEAVEN.
Perhaps you will suppose that there is no such service as hearing sermons, that there is no attendance upon the Word of God there. But are we sure that there are no such enter- tainments? Are there no lectures of divine wisdom and grace given to the younger spirits there by the spirits of a more exalted station?-Quoted in Stebbins's Our Departed Friends.
WEBSTER-ENTERING HEAVEN ON OUR KNEES.
Heaven's gates are not so highly arched as (those of) princes's palaces; those that enter there must go on their knees.
