and possess our souls by Thy grace, that nothing which defileth may enter into us; but that, being cleansed from all carnal and corrupt affections, we may ever be devoutly given to serve Thee in all good works, who art our Saviour, Lord, and God, blessed for evermore. Amen.

Blessed be Thy Name, O Lord, that it hath pleased Thee to put into the hearts of Thy servants to restore and adorn this House, for Thy honor and worship, and for the ministry of Thy Holy Word and Sacraments. Bless them, O Lord, their families, and their substance, and accept the work of their hands; remember them concerning this; forget not this kindness that they have shewed for the House of their God, and for the offices thereof; and grant, that all who now or hereafter shall enjoy the benefit of this pious work, may shew forth their thankfulness to Thee for the same, by making a right use of it, to the glory of Thy blessed Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified; Receive our supplications and prayers, which we offer before Thee for all estates of men in Thy holy Church, that every member of the same, in his vocation and ministry, may truly and godly serve Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We pray for all Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, particularly for those of this Diocese and Parish, that they may be always found waiting on their ministry, and by their life and doctrine may set forth Thy glory, and set forward the salvation of the immortal souls committed to their charge; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Now unto the King Eternal, Immortal, and Invisible, the only wise God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be all honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Here may be sung a Hymn.

If Morning Prayer is said:

PROPER PSALMS.

PSALM 15. Domine, quis habitabit?

Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle: or who shall rest upon thy holy hill?

2 Even he that leadeth an uncorrupt life : and doeth the thing which is right, and speaketh the truth from his heart.

3 He that hath used no deceit in his tongue, nor done evil to his neighbor: and hath not slandered his neighbor.

4 He that setteth not by himself, but is lowly in his own eyes and maketh much of them that fear the Lord.

5 He that sweareth unto his neighbor, and disappointeth him not though it were to his own hindrance. 6 He that hath not given his money upon usury: nor taken reward against the innocent.

7 Whoso doeth these things: shall never fall.
Glory be.

PSALM 84. Quam dilecta!

O how amiable are thy dwellings thou Lord of hosts!

2 My soul hath a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.

3 Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house, and

the swallow a nest, where she may lay her young: even thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.

:

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house they will be alway praising thee.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee in whose heart are thy ways.

6 Who going through the vale of misery use it for a well and the pools are filled with water.

7 They will go from strength to strength : and unto the God of gods appeareth every one of them in Sion.

8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: hearken, O God of Jacob.

9 Behold, Ọ God our defender and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For one day in thy courts is better than a thousand.

11 I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of ungodliness.

12 For the Lord God is a light and defence: the Lord will give grace and worship, and no good thing shall he withhold from them that live a godly life. 13 O Lord God of hosts blessed is the man that putteth his trust in thee.

Glory be.

:

PSALM 100. Jubilate Deo.

O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands: serve the Lord with gladness, and come before his presence with

a song.

2 Be ye sure that the Lord he is God it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

30 go your way into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him, and speak good of his Name.

4 For the Lord is gracious, his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth from generation to generation.

At the Holy Communion:

The Collect.

O most glorious Lord, we acknowledge that we are not worthy to offer unto Thee any thing belonging unto us; yet we beseech Thee, in Thy great goodness, graciously to accept this place for Thy service, and to prosper this our undertaking; receive the prayers and intercessions of all those Thy servants who shall call upon Thee in this house; and give them grace to prepare their hearts to serve Thee with reverence and godly fear affect them with an awful apprehension of Thy Divine Majesty, and a deep sense of their own unworthiness; that so, approaching Thy sanctuary with lowliness and devotion, and coming before Thee with clean thoughts and pure hearts, with bodies undefiled and minds sanctified, they may always perform a service acceptable to Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE ORDER FOR THE

CONSECRATION OF A CEMETERY, OR OF AN ADDITION TO A CEMETERY

The Bishop shall be received at the entrance of the Church or Churchyard by the Clergy of the Parish, the Churchwardens, and others. Then the Bishop, preceded by the Churchwardens, and followed by the Clergy, the Choir, and the Congregation, shall proceed around the Ground to be Consecrated, saying or singing one or more of the Psalms following:

PSALM 23. Dominus regit me.

The Lord is my shepherd: therefore can I lack nothing.

2 He shall feed me in a green pasture and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.

3 He shall convert my soul: and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness for his Name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.

5 Thou shalt prepare a table before me against them that trouble me: thou hast anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.

6 But thy loving-kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Glory be.
