The potash will soften the nail so that it can be gently scraped away thus allowing the blood to escape. *** At the last meeting of the Toledo Homeopathic Club, held on Oct. 25th, an interesting paper was read by Emma Boice-Hayes, in which she favored medical inspection of the public schools. It seems that during an alleged epidemic of small-pox in that city last spring, these two physicians claimed that they were able to render persons immune to small-pox by internal medication. This precipitated a fight with the Board of Health. The legality of the rights of the Board to insist upon certain specified means of treatment was questioned and in a recent decision the courts have decided against the Board. The court held that while the Board of Health had the right to require vaccination as a condition necessary to attendance at school, it must accept any system of vaccination approved by any standard school of medicine. *** The REPORTER has received cards announcing the marriage of Dr. A.
