To The Legislature:

The appetite for new laws, or for plum pudding,
ought not to be indulged to satiety. Only that measure of
either is good which is well digested and assimilated.
Overindulgence is the parent of dyspepsia and disgust.
There is still a large, private and public respect for the
Ten Commandments, and while this is plain diet it affords
ample nourishment and is the best security against inter-
nal disorders and bowel complaints.
