ENTERTAINMENT.

The entertainment tendered to the delegates and visitors at the Convention was this year undertaken by the Manufacturers' Association. Notwithstanding the attractions of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, the Manufacturers' Association was able to make considerable preparation for the entertainment of the delegates, and each of the functions was of a very enjoyable character.

No banquet was given, on account of the congested condition of the hotels and the fact that the delegates were so widely scattered in all parts of the city.

The concerts by Reeves' Band, of Providence, R. I., comprising forty musicians of high artistic ability, provided by the Manufacturers' Association, afforded much entertainment to the company. The band was in evidence at the various functions, and very materially assisted in the pleasure of those occasions.

Among the set entertainments was a full band concert at the Southern Hotel on Monday evening.

On Tuesday evening there was an informal reception to the delegates by the Manufacturers' Association, in the Electricity building. There was a concert and collation, and a very pleasant evening was spent.

On Wednesday evening the delegates and their friends were entertained by the Manufacturers' Association at the "Boer War." This magnificent spectacle was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and after the performance a trip on the lagoon in gondolas was participated in by a very large number.

On Thursday evening there was a theatre party at the Music Hall, at which the spectacular play "Louisiana” was witnessed.

On Friday, a full band concert was given at Machinery Hall. In the evening there was an informal reception at the New York State building, followed by refreshments and dancing.

Altogether, the Manufacturers' Association proved themselves worthy hosts in every respect, and the delegates highly appreciated the efforts which they made for their entertainment.

The courtesy of the St. Louis Transit Company in providing complimentary transportation on its lines was much esteemed.

In addition, the General Electric Company, the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company, the Bullock Electric Company, the Gould Storage Battery Company, and other manufacturers kept "open house" during the Convention, and the delegates were royally entertained.
