III. 4.

To the Father, throned in heaven,
To the Saviour, Christ, his Son,
To the Spirit, praise be given,
Everlasting Three in One:
As of old, the Trinity

Still is Worshipp'd, still shall be.
III. 5.

Great Jehovah! we adore thee,
God the Father, God the Son,
God the Spirit, join'd in glory
On the same eternal throne.
Endless praises

To Jehovah, Three in One.

CLASS IV.

IV. 1.

BY angels in heaven

Of every degree,
And saints upon earth,

All praise be address'd;
To God in Three Persons,
One God ever bless'd,
As it has been, now is,
And ever shall be.

IV. 2.

All praise to the Father, the Son,
And Spirit, thrice holy and bless'd,
Th eternal, supreme Three in One,
Was, is, and shall still be address'd.

IV. 3.

All praise to the Father, all praise to the Son,
All praise to the Spirit, thrice bless'd,
The holy, eternal, supreme Three in One,
Was, is, and shall still be address'd.

IV. 4.

O Father Almighty, to thee be address'd,
With Christ and the Spirit, one God ever bless'd,
All glory and worship from earth and from heaven,
As was, and is now, and shall ever be given.

EVE

IV. 5.

All glory and praise to the Father be given,
The Son, and the Spirit, from earth and from heaven;
As was, and is now, be supreme adoration,
And ever shall be, to the God of salvation.

COME

For Hymns 145 and 185.

TO the Father, to the Son,
And Spirit ever bless'd,
Everlasting Three in One,
All worship be address'd:
Praise from all above, below,
As throughout the ages past,
Now is given, and shall be so
While endless ages last.

When used to Hymn 185, in line 6, read,
As was throughout the ages past.

OME, let us adore Him; come, bow at his feet;
O give Him the glory, the praise that is meet;
Let joyful hosannas unceasing arise,

And join the full chorus that gladdens the skies.

Whenever the Hymns are used at the celebration of Divine Service, a certain portion or portions of the Psalms of David in metre shall also be sung.

TABLE OF FIRST LINES,

Showing where to find each Hymn by the beginning.

A charge to keep I have

Ah, how shall fallen man

Alas, what hourly dangers rise.

All-glorious God, what hymns of praise
Almighty Father, bless the word

Almighty Lord, before thy throne.
Although the vine its fruit deny

And are we now brought near to God
And wilt thou, O eterual God
And will the Judge descend
Another six days' work is done
Approach, my soul, the mercy-seat
Arise, my soul, with rapture rise
As, panting in the sultry beam

As, when the weary traveller gains

As o'er the past my memory strays

As the sweet flower that scents the morn
Awake, my soul, and with the sun
Awake, my soul, stretch every nerve
Awake, ye saints, awake

Faith is the Christian's evidence

199

Far from my thoughts, vain world, begone
Father of mercies! in thy word
Father of all, whose love profound.
Father of mercies, bow thine ear
Father, to thee my soul I liff.
Father, whate'er of earthly bliss
Few are thy days, and full of woe
Fountain of mercy, God of love
From all that dwell below the skies
From Greenland's icy mountains

From whence these direful omens round

Glory to thee, my God, this night
Glory to the Father give.
God moves in a mysterious way
God of the seas, thine awful voice
God of our fathers, by whose hand
Go forth, ye heralds, in my uame
"Go, preach my Gospel," saith the Lord
Grace! 'tis a charming sound
Great first of beings! mighty Lord
Great God, this sacred day of thine
Great God, to thee my evening song
Great God, what do I see and hear.

Great God, with wonder and with praise
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah

Hail! thou long-expected Jesus.

146

Hail to the Lord's Anointed

152

Hark! from the tombs a mournful sound

227

Hark! the glad sound, the Saviour comes
Hark! the herald angels sing

145

147

Hasten, sinner, to be wise

193

Hear, gracious God, my humble moan

209

Hear what the voice from heaven declares
