NUMBER 13.-Joint Resolution Regulating licenses to proprietors of theaters in the
District of Columbia. (1)

NOTE. (1) Provision is made for theater licenses by Comp. Stat. D. C., p. 348, §§ 54, 55. By 1892, February 26, Res. No. 4 (2 Supp. R. S., 71), the licenses of proprietors of theaters or other public places of amusement may be declared terminated unless they complied with such regulations as to public safety as might be prescribed by the District Commissioners, while the latter are also empowered to make additional regulations for comfort and quiet.

NUMBER 16.—Joint Resolution To regulate the distribution of public documents to the
Library of Congress for its own use and for international exchange. (1)

Resolved, &c., That of the publications described in this section the number of copies which shall be printed and distributed by the Public

NOTE. (1) Provision is made for the distribution of public documents to the Library of Congress as follows: Congressional Record by 1899, January 28, joint resolution No. 12 (2 Supp. R. S., 1110).

R. S., §§ 97, 98, make provisions in general for furnishing certain documents to the Library of Congress.

By R. S., § 3796, the Joint Committee on the Library may direct the printing of 50 or 100 copies of each document printed at the direction of Congress or the Executive Departments, in addition to the usual number, for the use of the Library of Congress.

By 1895, January 12, ch. 23, § 57, there are furnished to the Library of Congress 25 copies of the journal of Congress, by § 73 (2 Supp. R. S., 359, 360) copies of the specifications and drawings of each patent issued, bound in monthly volume; the Revised Statutes, supplements, and pamphlet laws, etc.

That in addition to the foregoing the Public Printer shall supply to the Library of Congress for its own use two copies of each ies. of the above-described publications, unbound, as published; five copies of all bills and resolutions; ten copies of the daily Congressional Record; and two copies of all documents printed for the use of Congressional committees not of a confidential character.

SEC. 3. NOTE. (1) By 1879, March 3, ch. 182, par. 11 (1 Supp. R. S., 252), provision is made for the publications of the Geological Survey.

By 1886, August 4, ch. 902 (1 Supp. R. S., 513), limitation is placed upon the publication of monographs and bulletins.

By 1887, March 3, Res. No. 16 (1 Supp. R. S., 575), provision is made for distribution of the special memoirs and reports of the Geological Survey.

By 1895, January 12, ch. 23, § 73 (2 Supp. R. S., 354), provision is made for the printing of 10,000 copies of the report of the Geological Survey.

By 1895, March 2, ch. 189, pars. 17, 18 (2 Supp. R. S., 433), provision is made for the report on minerals and the printing of pamphlet editions of any chapter, also for the printing of 3,000 copies of the monographs and bulletins for scientific exchanges and sale.
