10 A'r hyn a osododd efe yn ddeddf i Iacob, ac yn gyfam mod tragywyddol 1 Israel;

11 Gan ddywedyd, I ti y rhoddaf dir Canaan, rhandir eich etifeddiaeth.

12 Pan oeddynt ychydig o rifedi, ïe, ychydig, a dïeithriaid ynddi:

13 Pan rodient o genhedlaeth i genhedlaeth, o'r naill deyrnas at bobl arall :

14 Ni adawodd i neb eu gorthrymmu ïe, ceryddodd frenhinoedd o'u plegid;

15 Gan ddywedyd, Na chyffyrddwch a'm rhai enneiniog, ac na ddrygwch fy mhrophwydi.

16 Galwodd hefyd am newyn ar y tir: a dinystriodd holl gynhaliaeth bara.

17 Anfonodd wr o'u blaen hwynt, Ioseph, yr hwn a werth wyd yn was.

18 Cystuddiasant ei draed ef mewn gefyn: ei enaid a aeth mewn heiyrn:

19 Hyd yr amser y daeth ei air ef: gair yr Arglwydd a'i profodd ef.

20 Y brenhin a anfonodd, ac a'i gollyngodd ef; llywodraethwr y bobl, ac a'i rhyddhaodd ef. 21 Gosododd ef yn arglwydd ar ei dŷ, ac yn llywydd ar ei holl gyfoeth :

22 I rwymo ei dywysogion ef wrth ei ewyllys; ac i ddysgu doethineb i'w henuriaid ef.

23 Aeth Israel hefyd i'r Aipht; a Iacob a ymdeithiodd yn nhir

Ham.

24 Ac efe a gynnyddodd ei bobl yn ddirfawr ; ac a'u gwnaeth yn gryfach nâ'u gwrthwynebwŷr.

25 Trodd eu calon hwynt i gasâu eu bobl ef, i wneuthur yn ddichellgar â'i weision,

26 Efe a anfonodd Moses ei

13 What time as they went from one nation to another: from one kingdom to another people;

14 He suffered no man to do them wrong but reproved even kings for their sakes;

15 Touch not mine Anointed and do my prophets no harm.

:

16 Moreover, he called for a dearth upon the land and destroyed all the provision of bread.

17 But he had sent a man before them even Joseph, who was sold to be a bond-servant;

18 Whose feet they hurt in the stocks the iron entered into his soul;

19 Until the time came that his cause was known : the word of the Lord tried him.

20 The king sent, and delivered him the prince of the people let him go free.

21 He made him lord also of his house and ruler of all his substance;

22 That he might inform his princes after his will: and teach his senators wisdom.

23 Israel also came into E

gypt: and Jacob was a stranger in the land of Ham.

24 And he increased his people exceedingly and made them stronger than their enemies;

25 Whose heart turned so, that they hated his people : and dealt untruly with his servants.

26 Then sent he Moses his

31 Efe a ddywedodd, a daeth cymmysgbla, a llau yn eu holl fro hwynt.

32 Efe a wnaeth eu gwlaw hwynt yn genllysg, ac yn fflammau tân yn eu tir.

a

33 Tarawodd hefyd eu gwinwydd, a'u ffigyswŷdd; ac ddrylliodd goed eu gwlad hwynt. 34 Efe a ddywedodd, a daeth y locustiaid, a'r lindys, yn aneirif;

35 Y rhai a fwyttasant yr holl laswellt yn eu tir hwynt, ac a ddifasant ffrwyth eu daear hwynt.

36 Tarawodd hefyd bob cynt afanedig yn eu tir hwynt, blaenffrwyth eu holl nerth hwynt.

37 Ac a'u dug hwynt allan âg arian ac aur; ac heb un llesg yn eu llwythau.

38 Llawenychodd yr Aipht pan aethant allan: canys syrthiasai eu harswyd arnynt hwy.

39 Efe a danodd gwmmwl yn dô, a thân i oleuo liw

nos.

40 Gofynasant, ac efe a ddug soflieir; ac a'u diwallodd â bara nefol.

41 Efe a holltodd y graig, a'r dyfroedd a ddylifodd; cerddasant ar hŷd leoedd sychion yn afonydd.

42 Canys efe a gofiodd ei air sanctaidd, ac Abraham ei

was.

30 Their land brought forth frogs: yea, even in their kings' chambers.

31 He spake the word, and there came all manner of flies: and lice in all their quarters.

32 He gave them hail-stones for rain and flames of fire in their land.

33 He smote their vines also and fig-trees and destroyed the trees that were in their coasts.

34 He spake the word, and the grasshoppers came, and caterpillars innumerable: and did eat up all the grass in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

35 He smote all the first-born in their land even the chief of all their strength.

36 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: there was not one feeble person among

their tribes.

37 Egypt was glad at their departing for they were afraid of them.

38 He spread out a cloud to be a covering and fire to give light in the night-season.

39 At their desire he brought quails: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.

40 He opened the rock of stone, and the waters flowed out so that rivers ran in the dry places.

41 For why? he remembered his holy promise: and Abraham his servant.

43 Ac a ddug ei bobl allan ewn llawenydd; ei etholedig›n mewn gorfoledd.

44 Ac a roddes iddynt diredd y cenhedloedd: a meddinnasant lafur y bobloedd. 45 Fel y cadwent ei ddeddfau f, ac y cynhalient ei gyfreithiu. Molwch yr Arglwydd.

PRYDNHAWNOL WEDDI. Psal. cvi. Confitemini Domino.

42 And he brought forth his people with joy and his chosen with gladness;

43 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they took the labours of the people in possession; 44 That they might keep his statutes and observe his laws.

EVENING PRAYER. Psal. cvi. Confitemini Domino. Give thanks unto the Lord,

MOLWCH yr Arglwydd; for he is gracious: and his

anys da yw o herwydd ei lrugaredd a bery yn dragywydd. 2 Pwy a draetha nerthoedd r Arglwydd? ac a fynega ei holl fawl ef?

3 Gwyn eu byd a gadwant arn, a'r hwn a wnel gyfiawn

ler bob amser.

4 Cofia fi, Arglwydd, yn l dy raslonrwydd i'th bobl; ymwêl â mi a'th iachawdwrlaeth.

5 Fel y gwelwyf ddaioni dy etholedigion, fel y llawenychwyf yn llawenydd dy genedl di, fel y gorfoleddwyf gyda'th etifeddiaeth.

6 Pechasom gyda'n tadau; gwnaethom gamwedd, anwir eddus fuóm.

7 Ein tadau ni ddeallasant

dy ryfeddodau yn yr Aipht, ni chofiasant liosogrwydd dy drugareddau; eithr gwrthryfelgar fuont wrth y môr, sef y môr coch.

8 Etto efe a'u hachubodd

hwynt er mwyn ei Enw, i beri adnabod ei gadernid.

9 Ac a geryddodd y môr coch, fel y sychodd efe: a thywysodd hwynt trwy'r dyfnder, megis trwy'r anialwch.

10 Achubodd hwynt hefyd o law eu digasog; ac a'u gwaredodd o law y gelyn.

mercy endureth for ever.

2 Who can express the noble acts of the Lord or shew forth all his praise?

3 Blessed are they that alway keep judgement and do righteousness.

4 Remember me, O Lord, according to the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

11 A'r dyfroedd a doisant ei gwrthwynebwŷr; ni adawyd un o honynt.

12 Yna y credasant ei eiriau ef; canasant ei fawl ef.

13 Yn y fan yr anghofiasant ei weithredoedd ef; ni ddisgwyliasant am ei gyngor ef:

14 Eithr blysiasant yn ddirfawr yn yr anialwch; a themtiasant Dduw yn y diffaithwch.

15 Ac efe a roddes eu dymuniad iddynt; eithr efe a anfonodd gulni i'w henaid.

16 Cenfigennasant hefyd wrth Moses yn y gwersyll, ac wrth Aaron sant yr Arglwydd.

17 Y ddaear a agorodd ac a lyngcodd Ddathan, ac a orchuddiodd gynnulleidfa Abiram,

18 Cynneuodd tân hefyd yn eu cynnulleidfa hwynt: flam a losgodd y rhai annuwiol.

19 Llo a wnaethant yn Horeb; ac ymgrymmasant i'r ddelw dawdd.

20 Felly y troisant eu gogoniant i lun eidion yn pori glaswellt.

21 Anghofiasant Dduw eu Hachubwr, yr hwn a wnelsai bethau mawrion yn yr Aipht;

22 Pethau rhyfedd yn nhir Ham; pethau ofnadwy wrth y môr coch.

23 Am hynny y dywedodd y dinystriai efe hwynt, oni buasai i Moses ei etholedig sefyll ar yr adwy o'i flaen ef; i droi ymaith ei lidiogrwydd ef, rhag eu dinystrio.

24 Diystyrasant hefyd y tir dymunol: ni chredasant ei air

ef;

25 Ond grwgnachasant yn eu pebyll; ac ni wrandawsant ar lais yr Arglwydd.

26 Yna y dyrchafodd efe ei law yn eu herbyn hwynt, i'w cwympo yn yr anialwch ;

16 They angered Moses also in the tents and Aaron the saint of the Lord.

17 So the earth opened, and swallowed up Dathan: and covered the congregation of Abiram

18 And the fire was kindled in their company : the flame burnt up the ungodly.

19 They made a calf in Horeb: and worshipped the molten image.

20 Thus they turned their glory into the similitude of a calf that eateth hay.

21 And they forgat God their Saviour: who had done so great things in Egypt;

22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham: and fearful things by the Red sea.

23 So he said, he would have destroyed them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the gap: to turn away his wrathful indignation, lest he should destroy them.

24 Yea, they thought_scor of that pleasant land: and gave no credence unto his word;

25 But murmured in their tents and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.

26 Then lift he up his hand against them: to overthrow them in the wilderness;

[blocks in formation]

30 Yna y safodd Phinees, ac a iawnfarnodd: a'r pla a attaliwyd.

31 A chyfrifwyd hyn iddo yn gyfiawnder, o genhedlaeth i genhedlaeth byth.

32 Llidiasant ef hefyd wrth ddyfroedd y gynnen; fel y bu ddrwg i Moses o'u plegid hwynt. 33 O herwydd cythruddo o honynt ei yspryd ef, fel y camddywedodd a'i wefusau.

34 Ni ddinystriasant y bobloedd, am y rhai y dywedasai'r Arglwydd wrthynt:

35 Eithr ymgymmysgasant a'r cenhedloedd; a dysgasant eu gweithredoedd hwynt;

36 A gwasanaethasant eu delwau hwynt; y rhai a fu yn fagl iddynt.

37 Aberthasant hefyd eu meibion a'u merched i gythreuliaid, 38 Ac a dywalltasant waed gwirion, sef gwaed eu meibion a'u merched, y rhai a aberthasant i ddelwau Canaan: a'r tir a halogwyd â gwaed.

39 Felly'r ymhalogasant yn eu gweithredoedd eu hun, ac y putteiniasant gyda'u dychymygion.

40 Am hynny y cynneuodd dig yr Arglwydd yn erbyn ei bobl, fel y ffieiddiodd efe ei

etifeddiaeth.

41 Ac efe a'u rhoddes hwynt yn llaw'r cenhedloedd ; a'u caseion a lywodraethasant arnynt.

27 To cast out their seed among the nations: and to scatter them in the lands. 28 They joined themselves unto Baal-peor and ate the offerings of the dead.

29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their own inventions and the plague was great among them.

30 Then stood up Phinees and prayed and so the plague ceased.

31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness: among all posterities for evermore.

32 They angered him also at the waters of strife: so that he punished Moses for their sakes;

33 Because they provoked his spirit so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34 Neither destroyed they the heathen: as the Lord commanded them;

35 But were mingled among the heathen and learned their works.

:

36 Insomuch that they worshipped their idols, which turned to their own decay: yea, they offered their sons and their daughters unto devils;

37 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters: whom they offered unto the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood.

38 Thus were they stained with their own works and went a whoring with their own

inventions.

39 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

40 And he gave them over into the hand of the heathen : and they that hated them were lords over them.
