40"He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. 41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward. 42 And whosoever shall give unto one of these little ones' a cup of cold water only to drink in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in nowise lose his reward."

CH. XI. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence, to teach and to preach in their cities.

MATT. XI.

16" Now to what shall I liken this generation!

It is like unto children sitting in market-places, and calling unto their companions, 17 and saying, 'We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.' 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He hath a demon.' 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!' And yet wisdom is justified by her children."

36 Now one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him; and he entered into the Pharisee's house, and placed himself at table. 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, who had been a sinner, when she knew that Jesus was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster vase of balsam, 38 and stood behind at his feet weeping, and began to wet his feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the balsam.
