Though dated 1654, the present volume appeared in 1653, and it contains at the back of the title a noticeable curiosity, the original advertisement of Walton's Complete Angler. Dr. Zouch, in his Edit. of Walton's Lives (York, 1796), says: "Of Sir Henry Wotton's Latin Panegyric on Chas. I. there are two translations by unknown hands. The one is inserted in the Reliqua Wottonian,' the other (the above) is very scarce; printed in a very small twenty-fours on a large type, containing 118 pages, besides the Dedication and Preface."

"The fact of there being two translations seems to me dubious. The one given in the Reliquæ would rather appear to be a revised reprint of the present much of it is quite identical."-T. W.
