In the Second Edition I have added several new Exercises, especially upon the earlier subjects; having found, after using the book for a year in my own School, that though there are some little boys for whom five or six Exercises upon each subject are enough, there are others who seem to require at least ten or twelve in order to gain that familiarity with new Rules and Inflexions, which is desirable before proceeding to fresh difficulties.
