No vessels enjoy special privileges in this regard except British men of war. Vessels in distress and foreign war vessels pay pilotage if pilotage is requested by said vessels. LIGHT DUES. There are no light dues at this port. GENERAL CHARACTER OF THE LIGHTS. Mouille Point Light is situated in latitude 33° 53′ 56′′ S., and longitude 18° 24' 46" E. It is a round white shaft 30 feet high, painted with horizontal red bands. The light is 44 feet above high-water mark, and is a red dioptric fixed, of the fourth order, and is visible about 10 miles. Green Point Light is situated in latitude 33° 54′ 4′′ S., and longitude 18° 24′ 3′′ E. The shaft is a square tower 80 feet above high water, and the light is a white dioptric of the third order, flashing at intervals of 10 seconds, and is visible about 13 miles. Robben Island Light is situated on a hill in the southernmost and highest part of Robben Island at an elevation of 154 feet above high water. It is in latitude 33° 48′ 52" S. and longitude 18° 22′ 33′′ E. The shaft is 60 feet high, painted white, and the light is a fixed white 3 |
