of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and Dr. Geo. Wall, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, have paid their dues for 1899 in advance.

The sum of $118.00, dues to June, 1898, is still owing the society.

During the year I have signed warrants amounting to $262.43, $90.00 of which was for the publication of the transactions of 1897.

WM. F. AMOS, Secretary.

The secretary, in the absence of the treasurer, read the treasurer's annual report:

To the Oregon State Medical Society:

The compliment paid to myself by the society last year in electing me, in my absence, to the office of treasurer, was most unexpected, and very greatly appreciated, as I believe is the case with all humanity when a kind attention is shown by friends in time of affliction or suffering. The resolution of sympathy extended to me at that time also was most comforting in my extremity.

It is with pleasure that I report the following condition of the society's financies. While all dues have not been paid, as we had hoped would be the case after the fine showing of last year's work, which we believed would prove an inspiration to the members, and we must enter the new year with the burden of a certain percentage of unpaid dues, yet all bills have been promptly met and our balance on hand is above that of a year ago, being $186.97, against $141.85 of last year.

This is encouraging, and if continued will mean much for the future of the Oregon State Medical Society.

Respectfully submitted,

MAE H. CARDWELL,

Treasurer.
