"As to the antitoxin to use, having tried five or six different makes in the past two years, I have found that manufactured by Parke, Davis & Co. most efficacious. Apart from the potency of this brand, I must commend the ingenious manner in which it is marketed, viz, in hermetically - sealed glass bulbs, which exclude the air and keep the serum strictly aseptic."-DR. GEO. DUFFIELD, in the Journal of the American Medical Association, March 6th, 1897, page 446.

In the treatment of diarrheal affections,

whether acute or chronic,

TANNIGEN

has proved of exceptional value.

Tannigen, or acetyl tannin, is an ideal intestinal astringent, which passes unchanged through the stomach and is decomposed gradually in the intestine, exerting its specific action upon the entire intestinal canal. It is odorless, tasteless, agreeable of administration, and perfectly innocuous and unirritating. In acute and chronic diarrhoeal troubles, both of children and adults, dysentery, the diarrhoea of phthisis, Tannigen has been successfully employed.

ALSO,

Piperazine-Bayer, Somatose, Sulfonal-Bayer, Phenacetine-Bayer, Lycetol, Salophen, lodothyrine, Aristol, Trional, and Losophan.

DYE-WORKS MEDICINES

A series of synthetic substances used as medicines is produced by various dye-houses and chemical works. These are known to every physician. They come under the general category of the "coal tar" series, and are used as anti-pyretics, anti-rheumatics and antitoxics. It is unnecessary to tell the intelligent practitioner that these substances conquer pyretic conditions by reducing the system until it is too feeble to maintain such conditions. We want to call attention to the fact that

TONGALINE (MELLIER)

is vastly superior to these "dye-works medicines" as an anti-pyretic, and it is not a cardiac depressant.

"In all cases of Rheumatic and Neuralgic Pains accompanying the colds that predominate in this damp and malarial region, Tongaline seems to be a specific. In fact, for all forms of Rheumatism and Neuralgia, I find Tongaline a safe, easy and efficient remedy." -C. W. PRINDLE, M.D., Grand Rapids, Mich.

Bacteriology

The crucial test of the efficacy of an antiseptic fluid is the bacteriological one. When we state that BOROLYPTOL is equal in germicidal potency to a 1-1000 solution of Corrosive Sublimate without the irritant or toxic properties of the latter drug, we base our claim upon the results of careful laboratory experimentation with the different varieties of germ life. We have full, complete and conclusive reports from the bacteriologists of the N. Y. Post-Graduate Medical School, City Hospital at Boston, and the Garfield Memorial Hospital at Washington.

These will be sent upon request.

BOROLYPTOL is palatable, iragrant, and slightly astringert. It does not stain linen or clothes. It should be employed in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Rhino-Laryngology, Surgery and Dentistry. Also internally in the treatment of Typhoid Fever, and in the gastro intestinal disorders of children.
